Bottled inks
A promising picking of staining little wild berries : Canadian may-lily (maianthemum canadense). The berries are kept frozen to be processed later on; the freezing also participate in the extraction of the pigments.
Picking dye-producing mushrooms : common ink cap (coprinopsis atramentaria)
Reference book illustrated with colour samples taken in the ink making process
A glimpse at the data bank of the project
Damask rose (rosa damascena) ink in progress. All along the process, samples are taken on strips of paper to keep track of the effect of each step on the colour.
Bottling of ink samples : large-leaved lupine (lupinus polyphyllus). In the background, a variety of plants at different stages of processing, including garden iris (iris barbatus) and blue flag (iris versicolor) while soaking.
Processing red maple (acer rubrum), common buttercup (ranunculus acris), tufted vetch (vicia cracca), fox-and-cubs (pilosella aurantiaca)
