One day, soon after having moved to the forest in my running-water-less studio-shack, I was working with acrylic paint. This is when the impact of my artistic practice hit me : I couldn’t pretend I didn’t know anymore. I then decided to switch medium, and before long I was elaborating my own handcrafted inks, mostly with forestry plants. As I expected, I now feel a lot more at ease with the place I occupy and the role I play within the ecosystem that I am a part of. What I did not see coming, is how this medium I thought I was changing is actually changing me : instead of the iconography based on the opposition of contrasts that I used to worked with until now, I am henceforth spreading myself into a wide scale of nuances, and in the process discovering the power of subtlety.
