This animated film is made of six hundreds images, which have been drawn on 17 individual sheets, using charcoal, eraser and gesso. Each drawing was photographed twice, and then covered with the next drawing to take place in the animation. This technique is somewhat risky because the drawings are not permanent. However, this process also allows a relatively quick production since the drawings do not need to be entirely copied from an image to the next. Only the moving part is altered. In this way, video literally fuses with the traditional medium of drawing : while watching the animated film, the viewer can follow the evolution of the drawings on the screen.
